BUNDT CAKES

A Piece of Bundt Cake History (pronounced “bunt“)

Did you know that the first bundt cakes were called bundkuchen and might have come from Germany, Austria, and Hungry? During the fabulous ‘50’s, the bundt cake was all the rage and due to its’ popularity the forefather of Nordic Ware, H. David Dalquist decided to trademark the bundt pan name. Bundt pan sales skyrocketed in1966 after a bundt cake was in the Pillsbury baking contest winners circle. To date, bundt pan manufacturers produce wide-ranging bundt pan motifs. Some of these bundt pan creations have been likened to castles and train designs.
